Membership is FREE and open to any adult in Darke, Miami and Shelby counties with a mental health diagnosis or in need of mental health support.

  • Drop in, call, or get referred
  • Get greeted with a smiling face and minimal paperwork.
  • Participate in whatever you feel comfortable doing or hang getting comfortable while you make friends...Participation is totally voluntary!!!

      We were members once too. As a new member, we know that your first day can be a stressful one. But believe us, you have made a great step by coming in today. You will see the results if you keep coming back! We have so much to offer and you have so much to offer us by just being yourself! The most important thing we want you to know is: Don't be afraid to ask questions or come to us at anytime!
  • Let us know how much you would like to get involved or if you would like to just sit back and watch.
  • Let us know if you want alone time or if you want to be around people more.
  • Let us know if you like to be introduced to others or just ease your own way into friendships.
  • Let us know if you would like to be paired up with a partner during the day to walk you through things or if you would just like to observe on your own.
  • Let us know what you wish we would offer, what you do like that we have, and what you don't like.

This is your SafeHaven, just like everyone else here. If you don't tell us, we won't know.

At SafeHaven, we have a mix of adult members of all ages, backgrounds, interests, and levels in their recovery. Many of our members our members are active and successful in the community.

Did you know that...
  • 20 of our 23 current staff positions are held by consumers
  • 8 current members help teach other consumers recovery through WRAP classes
  • 29 jobs have hired members in our vocational program since last December
  • 3 members are paid teachers for the national BRIDGES program
  • Many of our members volunteer for the Ohio Department of Mental Health, Ohio Advocates for Mental Health, local speaking engagements, and more
  • Members pay THOUSANDS of visits to over 25 different types of classes every year.

You could join any of the above, or take advantage of these opportunities...
  • Mentor members who need more help in their recovery
  • Help cook meals or GET PAID in in our catering service
  • Help teach classes
  • Find employment through our vocation program, and/or working for us
  • Share your ideas to help SafeHaven plan and grow
