Greetings, prospective SafeHaven board members!
On behalf of our current board members, our staff, and those we serve, I am grateful for your potential interest in becoming a SafeHaven board member. Non-profit board service is an honorable and valuable distinction benefitting our communities for all non-profit agencies. We are grateful for all who have served on our Board since our inception in 1996.
SafeHaven provides educational, social, and vocational services for adults with mental illness in Darke, Miami, and Shelby Counties. These free services include educational classes and support groups, field trips, holiday events, daily meals, transportation, HOPE-Line phone support, organizational payeeship, vocational and life-skill building, and much more. We strive to ensure that all of our clients receive warmth, caring, and encouragement in a safe environment. SafeHaven has locations in Greenville, Piqua, and in Sidney. Our mission reaches an average of well over one-hundred citizens utilizing our services every day across our three counties.
Board membership assists our communities in ensuring we are excelling in our mission, doing so in a fiscally efficient way, and enhancing our available resources. Our board currently meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at noon, generally at our Miami County location in Piqua at 633 N. Wayne St. In addition to monthly meetings, board members can choose to assist with our fundraising efforts, marketing reach, and in various other areas fitting your expertise and availability.
I would like to invite you to attend a SafeHaven board meeting at your convenience to learn more with no commitment required, and/or I would be happy to meet with you at your availability to discuss more about SafeHaven and how your Board service could benefit our communities through supporting our SafeHaven mission helping so many in need.
